This years opponent is the Mighty Reds - hoping to capture their first title since they last won it.

We Remember

Three years ago November 11th, the Blues lost a family member, a friend and their leader.

We miss you Jocko.

The Blues are off to the best start in years - defeating the blacks last Friday, to extend their season opening streak to 7 wins - 7 more losses and they’ll be able to secure a .500 record.

Thanks once again to Julian for the beer, to Kellerd for the saves, and to Sully for shooting ‘em up…

What a start!

Not since the days of Mike Emo have the Blues jumped out to such a glorious start to the season. With a 3-1 win on Friday, the Blues find themselves with a string of three wins to open the 08/09 campaign. Or as Sully would say - finally they are .500 .

The game was spirited, with the Whites employing rugby like precision to their tackles - too bad you can’t kick a puck in the net. At one point, the numerous fans at the Ted Reeve Centre for the Developmentally Challenged got so out of hand the referees were forced to turn out the lights….when the lights came on some ten minutes later, all the fans had left.

First star of the game goes to Joe McNeil’s mouthguard - finally making a return to the lineup after a full season off - and not looking the least bit out of place - well at least no more out of place then any 1971 mouthguard would look in 2008.

Till next week….Up the Blues….and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

And we’re back!!!

Well folks, it’s game on again back at Ted Reeve Centre for Performing Arts - where the Blues opened their new campaign with a dominant victory over the mighty Reds last Friday.

A mid-season performance by Kellerd Boyes backstopped an explosive offense, and championed a explosive chicken-wing massacre to finish the night. When asked ‘what did you do with your off-season’ - a few blues had this to offer:

“I tried to keep doing the same thing I always do, keeping my in-season eating and storytelling identical, right down to the same stories, at the same time, every day” - Mike Sullivan

“Wait….summer is over and I missed it?!” - Howie

“I tried to make sure that everyone knew who won the scoring title, and replay every goal - starting with my childhood back in Calgary….” - Sweep

“Are we getting more chicken wings?” - Kellerd Boyes

So after a strong start to the season, the Blues will look to keep the momentum going this Friday vs. the Blacks (featuring JP File). 8pm @ Ted Reeve Spherical Centre for the Spherical puck.
