Last night at the Club De Balmy, the BBC Blues selected James McCudden in the first round (fourth overall). The Blues then passed on any further drafting stating ‘we got our man, and besides which everyone will bitch about ice time’.

The first look at the 2007/08 Blues will be this friday vs. the Mighty Reds @ 7pm. Known to be absent are Joe and PG (PG has been put in the leagues substance-abuse program and is under indefinite suspension, and Joe is threatening to remain in Sweden for the year). Also absent will be Mike McCauley - who is serving a hold-over suspension from last year for taking un-flattering photographs in the locker room.

Welcome on-baord James and you’ve got a better tan today than you had last night, not to mention big skates to fill!! Must be from all the media lights and the interviews held at De Balmy last evening. Thanks to all that supported James and the draft last night; the Blues were well represented. In all, 9 players were drafted with the Golds taking 4!!!
Tugger is also absent Friday and JP has not been given medical clearance to play by the Leaf doctor’s. So, this will be a great opportunity to get a lot of ice time.
